Robert Downy Jr was one of the most beloved actors in MCU. His work as Tony Stark and Iron Man is one of the most memorable and cherished by the fans. This is why it was heartbreaking to see his death in the Avengers: Endgame. However, the actor is now making a return as Dr Doom in MCU, a news which has left people excited but confused.

Robert Downy Junior, Dr Doom And The MCU
Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Robert Downey Jr. revealed the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. RDJ travelled to Hall H at SDCC and appeared on stage as Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom. Not only is Robert Downey Jr returning to the MCU, but Kevin Feige has also revealed that the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony Russo, will be making a comeback. The Avengers: Doomsday film will be directed by a couple. They were present in Hall H when the announcement was made.
“If we’re going to bring Doctor Doom to the screen — he is one of the most complex characters, most entertaining characters in all of fiction. If we’re going to do this … then we are going to need the greatest actor in the world.” Anthony Russo said.
While the news has made a lot of fans excited about the next movie and how the actor will play the role, some people are concerned. RDJ playing Dr Doom in the MCU can either be the most genius move, or the stupidest one. Some fans feel that it is desperation on the end of Disney and Marvel, and it is just nostalgia bait. However, we will see how things actually turn out with the release of Avengers: Doomsday.
